If you have ever been to a wedding in which all bridesmaids wore the same gown, and some seemed to look like the dress was made for them, and others... not so much! - then you have seen firsthand how hard it can be to find one dress that fits all your bridesmaids. While you don't have to choose the same dress necessarily, there is a nice uniformity to it, and it prevents one bridesmaid from getting a dress that others wanted. But, the problem with one dress is that each and every girl in your wedding party isn't possibly the same shape and size. And therein lies the problem.
While there is no way to be entirely sure, unless you have all the girls present for a fitting, there are some characteristics of dresses to stay away from. Avoid looking at bridesmaid gowns with the following characteristics if you want more than one bridesmaid to wear the same dress: - Stay away from gowns that have large bows around the back of the gown (or anywhere for that matter). Not all bridesmaids want attention to their backside with a big bow.

- Try not to choose a dress or skirt that is too short as it can make your bridesmaids somewhat uncomfortable. There are some instances in which a knee length dress is best, including beach weddings, but much shorter than that might leave some of your girls feeling awkward. - Choose fabrics that are light and don't have too much frill to them. A petite bridesmaid may look as though the dress was wearing her, rather than the other way around. Not to mention, when a dress has too much going on it is going to gain negative attention. - Keep in mind that pale colors can look different on certain skin tones, so you want to be sure that the color you choose is going to compliment all of your bridesmaid's skin colors.
- If you are going to be having a theme wedding, remember that the goal is not to embarrass your bridesmaids beyond belief. You want them to feel comfortable, while still fitting into the theme of choice. It is a good idea before you go dress shopping to get a feel for the styles of your bridesmaids, while you don't have to accommodate them all, it will make it easier to find a happy medium. Remember that what your bridesmaids will wear is a reflection of you and your style sense, so you have to have the biggest say in what they wear. But, it always makes things more harmonious if you try to make everyone feel comfortable and confident on your big day!
